New Lead Generation Tool: SlideShare for Business
As a follow-up to the recent series on Integrated Lead Generation, here’s a new tool that you should consider adding to your arsenal. SlideShare has been around for some time, and many have found it to be very useful for promoting their business. It’s also available within profiles on LinkedIn.
They have now taken it a step further and have a separate section of their web site called SlideShare Business. They developed a way to use SlideShare presentations for lead generation. Fair warning: there is a cost associated with this. However, it is similar to the pay-per-click model used on search engines – the cost occurs only when someone clicks through.
They have two ways to use your slide presentations – AdShare and LeadShare. With AdShare your presentations are presented contextually to those of their 20 million monthly visitors that are already viewing something similar. You pay only if someone clicks on your document.
LeadShare is a little different. It allows you to capture leads from within your content; on the first, third, or last slide of your presentation. If the person viewing your slide show is interested they click on that slide and fill out their contact information. You can also add custom questions on the contact form if you like. You only pay for leads that are actually captured.
It’s an interesting way for the SlideShare folks to monetize a very successful web site, and potentially a good way for businesses to gather leads.

Please let me know what kind of results you get if you choose to use it. Happy Selling!
