Question for My Subscribers and Visitors

Question for SubscribersMost of you have noticed, and some have commented, that I haven’t been posting as frequently on this blog. I feel strongly that I owe all of you an explanation. I would also like you to have a say in how, or if, this blog continues. So please do read this post and comment.

As I have stated in the past, I made a decision to launch my own business helping small businesses with their marketing efforts. Since most small, and some medium, size businesses don’t have their own marketing people in house there is a large demand for what amounts to virtual marketing departments for those companies. I also chose to align myself with Duct Tape Marketing and I became an authorized coach. Both decisions have turned out to be very good decisions.

Is 100% Correct Really Necessary?

Is 100% necessaryClose enough for government work.  Just get it to 95%, that ought to work fine.  You don’t need to have it totally complete, just get most of it done.  Just do it.

We’ve all heard variations on some of these statements, but is less than 100% good enough? Well, maybe for some tasks it might be. But, consider what the ramifications would be if just 99.5% was acceptable.

As a history buff I do know that there is value in looking back and learning from the past.  The old axiom of hindsight being 20/20 is often very true.  And, as technology advances ever faster it becomes more difficult to take a breath and review anything.

End of Decade Question – 2009 or 2010?

businessman with question bag on head 150x150 End of Decade Question 2009 or 2010?After seeing a number of articles proclaiming the end of 2009 as the end of the decade I began to question that in my mind.  I also asked my wife and a few good friends who would take my question seriously and not think that I was a complete idiot for asking – partial idiot maybe, but not a complete idiot.  Unfortunately no one was really able to answer the question fully.  My wife gave it the best shot by explaining that numbering starts at zero and goes up from there.  I knew that already, but she still humored me being the great wife that she is.

These Can’t Possibly Be The Top 10 Search Questions

The 5 double-u's and one H.

Since a good part of my business is related to online search I always find it fascinating what people enter into those little search boxes.  There are numerous tools available to find out this information, but the folks at Ask.com have been kind enough to give us a few year-end lists.  I’m not usually a big fan of these year-end sort of lists, but see if you don’t find these at least a little interesting – even without my snarky comments.
