Thank you Phil, for writing this story about my brother, Craig. He was certainly the most beautiful soul I have ever known. Although his sacrifice wasn't a willing one, his death, like all of the others killed that day, will always be remembered as the alarm that has awakened the sleeping giant. Although we may have wanted to hit the snooze button to return to that ignorant state of bliss, these deaths are a constant reminder that our dream is ending and we are awakening to a nightmare. The nation has been set in perpetual change since that day; there is much to be done to restore the American dream. We must not let their deaths be in vain.

Phil,
Beautifully done! Their memories painted a much better picture than your words ever could. You could only speak of him as someone special who perished on that horrific day, they however, spoke of when he was alive, his love for them and theirs for him, and the impact he had on their lives.

One can only hope to be remembered in such a way when the time comes...
Thanks for introducing Craig to us.

I could not be who I am today without you, Craig. Rarely does one encounter a person who knows what is right and has the moral fortitude to carry it out despite the difficulty therein. You are a once in a lifetime friend. Today, I am still amazed by you innate wisdom, particularly at a young age. The challenge of your intellect during my formative years spurred me to be my best.

You missed fatherhood by 11 days and that is a true tragedy. I can attest to this since you were more of a father figure to me than anyone I know. I marvel at how a child could give fatherly advice to another child. And yet, you did.

Today is a day for remembrance, of course. But I remember you most on days when I long to share with you my sincere joys. I remember you with great anguish on days when I wish I could lean on your strength. I remember you ever and always, my brother. I just miss you so much.

Very nicely done, Phil. Thank you so much for participating. You are right. Coming to know someone through their loved ones' remembrances is very emotional. It is hard. But it is important we all have the chance to "humanize" the insane number we lost that day and this is the very best way I know how. Thank you for your tribute to Craig William Staub.
